A sculptural installation-performance, scored in six, eleven-minute loops.
A chain of four kinetic string-sculptures are powered by four performers who are attached to each structure through a string around their waists. The strings serve as a conduit for currents; manifested as movement and creating a resonance which allows for an interplay between the materials of body and sculpture. This resonance is perceived as spatio-temporal ripples revealing the physics of causality and potentials for interconnectivity. This work is part of the Qualia series which alters pre-existing spaces, structures, or objects, primarily using dozens of white masonry strings. Qualia series invites the viewer to reconsider their seemingly ordinary surroundings and listen to a realm of perception that is unquantifiable, internal, and subjective.
