Dedication of Olivia Senter’s Girl Scout Gold Award project. She built a labyrinth which is located near the Columns of our church, located at 1030 College Drive, Madisonville, KY. The often-asked question is “what is a labyrinth?” It is a prayer and meditation path. But more completely we should note “a labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness (some date to 2500 years before Christ). A labyrinth combines the imagery of a circle and a spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. A labyrinth represents the journey to our own center and back again out into the world”. In the Christian tradition, the labyrinth has come to represent our journey to and with God. We look forward the blessings the labyrinth will bring to our community of faith. Olivia and her volunteers have brought a wonderful gift to our church and the community.
