In May I traveled to the PNW to ski several iconic volcanoes. I skied Mount Baker, Mount Rainier (2nd descent of Nisqually Ice Cliff), Mount St Helens, Mount Adams (solo) and Mount Hood (solo). Although not volcanic, I made several attempts to ski Mount Shuksan. On each attempt the weather turned forced a turn-around.
Those who skied with me and showed me a tremendous amount of generosity and hospitality include:
-Josh Smith (one of my longtime friends and a guide for International Mountain Guides)
These folks are shown in the video, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hospitality and generosity of Anita Thompson, Greg and Rita Hamman, John and Meghann Watkins, and the Kurth family. Thank you so much for letting me stay with you on this adventure. I also owe Helly Hansen a debt of gratitude for helping me with my travel to, from, and around the PNW.
All in all it was a great trip. I met new people, enjoyed the company of long-time friends, saw beautiful scenery, and skied amazing peaks.
