The railroad track passes by literally the far side of the lawn and runs dead straight for 4 miles. I've been wanting to fly it that full distance as low as I can, so here we go.
First turn-around point was 2.3 miles out, and there's
one failsafe while about 2 miles and 30 feet up. Turned power up on the UHF Tx and soldiered on.
I couldn't stay as low north of the trees because I was shooting video and control signals through that small hole
in the trees that I flew through, and would have had to pass through more trees about 1.25 miles up the track.
BTW, the train only comes, at most, once a week on Sundays, and passes by at about 15mph. Pretty hard
to miss it blowing its horn at the crossings miles away.
