'Eclipse' is a 'non-verbal' film following in the tradition of films like Baraka, Koyaanisqatsi and more recently Samsara. Featuring stunning images and a hypnotic musical score, there are no actors, nor any dialogue, only real people and the elements.
This short journeys through India's economic capital, Mumbai (Bombay), contrasting portraits of people who live in the streets with the natural beauty that surrounds them.
I made this film during my time living in Mumbai in between filming various projects as a freelance cinematographer. The sheer rawness of the people there really captured my imagination along with the magnificent beauty of the city and that soft magical golden light of the sub-continent.
Pretend you're in the cinema, dim the lights, crank up the sound (speakers or headphones are best) and hit Full Screen to maximize your experience.
