This is a full CG music video I created over the course of two months. It was directed by me, Janelle Kroll, Owen Brown, and Laura Wass, and was an ambitious undertaking, all rendered at home on my 6 x 1080tis and 3 x 980tis in Octane and animated in Cinema 4D. The scan of Janelle was done by SCANable, and the facial mocap was captured by MocapNow and Ander Bergstrom and animated painstakingly by CJ Markham. I created all the fluid sims in RealFlow for C4D, which is an amazing plugin.
I want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to my friends Grant Inouye and Christopher Rutledge. Grant did all the melting sims in Houdini, as well as the process of remeshing all the facial mocap animations so Janelle's character looked like a sculpture. Chris helped me retopo the arm in Zbrush and created all the smoke sims towards the beginning of the video. I couldn't have done this video without the help of these guys!
Finally, I'd like to give a shoutout to Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple, for his help on modeling techniques for the ice cave using just a bunch of cubes and an XP skinner, and to Travis Davids for being so kind as to give me the animated raindrop shader that creates the drips on the ice sculpture in the beginning of the video!
I've also gotta give a huge thank you to my fiancée Chelsea Starling for dealing with all my stress on the project and helping me rework the story to a more uplifting final note!
Thanks and hope you enjoy!
