June, a Landscape Architect and international equestrian and Jim, a Chartered Surveyor, bought the 300 year old April Cottage at Ballygraffan in 1998 and started creating their stable yard. They fell totally in love with the landscape, the views and the atmosphere. Now that June is getting longer in the tooth, both she and her horses are taking life easier and she decided to open up this unique slice of Co. Down to allow others to enjoy the amazing feeling she gets every morning when she wakes up, hears the birds singing and looks out over Strangford Lough.
Her aim is for guests to take a deep breath and relax from the moment they arrive. There is plenty to occupy visitors whether it be exploring the natural beauty of the farm, the on-site Neolithic burial mound, chilling with the horses and donkeys, or visiting the nearby tourist attractions and great eating establishments. Alternatively, they can simply relax in the unique accommodation she has created.
