Filmed in June 2008, a remarkable and almost purely African style drumming brought to Cuba by Franco-Haitian slaves who came to the province of Oriente during the 19th century. The dancers mimick the "contredanse" of their former white masters. Only three tumba francesa groups are operating today, one in Guantanamo, one in Santiago and one in Holguin.
