The Kingsburg City Band presents the fifth in its six-concert series "Summer Band Concerts Under the Stars." This performance, with guest conductor Mike Schofield, features the theme of "A Night at the Movies." Among the celluloid gems are John Williams' "Symphonic Marches" and "Princess Leia's Theme." The always-popular "Looney Tunes Overture," "Seventy-Six Trombones," and the "Porgy and Bess Medley" allow the band to stretch out with these familiar favorites. Guest artist Jennifer Broussard on trumpet captivates the audience with the virtuosic "From the Shores of the Mighty Pacific" and is joined by two cohorts for the rousing "Bugler's Holiday." Modern film classics are feted by the music from "Moana" ("How Far I'll Go") and Disney's "Incredibles." And no Kingsburg concert would be complete without timeless marches like "Colonel Bogey" and "Stars and Stripes Forever" to conclude the night's music as has been the tradition for 131 years.
