SHORT FILM SYNOPSIS:
The aim of the film is to play with taboos and gender stereotypes and to explore a different kind of female beauty. It provides a glimpse into the world of Kizzy Vaines, a female bodybuilder. The visual aesthetic and soundtrack of the film are reminiscent of the glamour of the late 70s and early 80s, the golden age of female bodybuilding. It pays homage to the pioneering goddesses of the sport like Lisa Lyon and Rachel Mclish.
SHORT DIRECTOR BIO:
Elisha Smith-Leverock is half German, half American. She originally studied photography in Berlin. After graduating in she worked as a freelance photographer and contributor for several international fashion magazines. In 2005 she moved to London. Parallel to her career as a photographer she started experimenting with moving image and in 2009 she crossed over into the world fashion films & music videos.
