Several months prior to his passing, Ike Turner and his family approached Sixteen Blue Productions
with the aim of shooting a reality series that would chronicle the rock ‘n roll icon taking
back his name and making right with the past.
At the time, Ike was on top of the world. Fresh off of a recent Grammy win, he had
battled his demons to gain control of his drug addiction, reconciled with his Tina Turner-
clone wife Audrey Turner-Madison, and was on a mission to reclaim his tarnished image.
This produced a series of interviews and compelling verite footage shot in the aim of
producing a pilot presentation for television.
Unfortunately, as the months dragged on, a series of bizarre events transformed Ike’s
reformation into his demise. After he received word in October 2007 that his son Ike
Turner, Jr., was a person of interest in conjunction with a possible murder, his life began
to spiral out of control. He once again turned to drugs, and started pushing away those
who were closest to him. Our cameras were there for the ride.
Sadly, these events culminated in his cocaine-related death on December 12, 2007.
