Questo breve documentario racconta la vita quotidiana di Hoa, una guaritrice appartenente alla minoranza etnica Dao, che vive in un villaggio rurale nel Vietnam del Nord. Hoa raccoglie le piante medicinali nella foresta e guarisce la comunità con l’aiuto di sua figlia Chiem e della sua famiglia. Mentre le foreste sono minacciate dalla deforestazione a causa del rapido sviluppo, Hoa continua a trasmettere l’antica tradizione femminile delle pratiche di fitoterapia.
This short documentary follows the daily life of Hoa, a Dao ethnic minority healer living in a rural village in North Vietnam. Hoa collects medicinal plants in the forest and heals the community with the help of her daughter Chiem and her family. While the forests are under threat of deforestation due to rapid development, Hoa keeps transmitting the ancient female tradition of herbal medicine practices.
