In the fifth of this series of teachings, Dr. Don G. Pickney takes on the concept within our movement of believers (Word of Faith) that God NEVER chastens believers in the flesh, or within the physical realm, and that “chastening” in the New Testament sense involves only the use of the Word of God for correction.
He begins the teaching, however, insisting that the past four parts of this series is not putting down the “Word of Faith” movement, nor is it to “throw under the bus” its national leadership, primarily those whose platforms include major television ministries, and thus have the greatest ministry following. We are reminded from the beginning of this that proverbs declares, “A wise man loves correction.” Correction is never a negative thing, and differing from “persecution,” in that correction is designed to move one forward into a great place, while persecution is to tear down and destroy.
