The Crop Wild Relative (CWR) Project is a major global effort to collect, protect and utilise crop wild relatives. Led by the Crop Trust with the Millenium Seed Bank, Kew, it supports 24 countries with collecting wild relatives. The project also oversees pre-breeding efforts of 19 different crops in many parts of the world.
The CWR Project strengthens national genebanks’ collections and helps fill gaps in international safeguarding efforts. This 10-year global effort is made possible by the generous funding provided by Norway.
