Re]constructing Girl examines the intersection between childhood, adulthood, and feminism as it relates to creating a concept of girl. Using audio and visual imagery and drawing upon the experiences and memories of women interviewed for the project, this documentary short moves the discussion of girl culture from traditional avenues of academic discussion into an audio/visual space. An audio/visual space allows for an exploration of the concepts, sounds, images, symbols, slang, media artifacts, and pictorial memories associated with girlhood and personal memories of women interviewed.
