Interruption was commissioned by Cardiff Dance Festival in collaboration with Basement 21. It took place as part of the UK India Year of Culture 2017.
The project involved a number of different strands, with artists from Basement 21 based in Cardiff for a three week residency residency and an extended number of practitioners and students from Wales involved.
Interruption was created by Preethi Athreya, Padmini Chettur, Pravin Kannanur and Maarten Visser from Basement 21, with Lauren Heckler, Robbert van Hulzen, Siriol Joyner and Joanna Young. Involved in development and performance were Rosalind Hâf Brooks, Gareth Chambers, Croc, Emma Jenkins, Jessica Lerner, Ashley John Long, Belinda Neave, Marega Palser, Beth Powlesland, Anushiye Yarnell and students from the University of South Wales.
