This silent film was produced for the 2011 NECS conference “Sonic Futures: Soundscapes and the Languages of Screen Media”. The film documents the phenomenological experience of walking between public spaces with the iPod piece “Weaving-Scape”. The sound of the film is a live-reading performance (narration). “I slide my fingers across the buttons and find a movie file called Weaving-Scape. A or B? Either or; both versions of
the movie will alter my experience of walking back home, of wandering through the familiar urban space, of sitting on a bus, of walking through a park. The piece will shape the so many times walked path, converting it into a reflected space, a different lens through which to look at the surrounding, a peculiar filter through which to listen to the environment, a new space through which to think through.
