Summary:
Medications allow Canadians to live longer and healthier lives. However, some medications may carry more risk than benefit, especially with aging. The burden of medication on cognitive health cannot be ignored and should be one of the first things assessed when cognitive impairment is diagnosed in a patient.
Learn about medications which may not necessarily be helping patients and how deprescribing (reducing or stopping medications that may not be beneficial or may be causing harm) can represent an interesting approach.
