Curator Esen Kaya's DRAWING project involves arts organisations across north east England in activities designed to stimulate drawing and interest in art among people of all ages and cultures. This phase of DRAWING included 30 partner organisations and thousands of participants across the region with everything from drawing machines and animation workshops to collage making and drawing on glass.
Exhibitions ranged from Middlesbrough in the south to Berwick in the far north and included the Arts Council's Collection 'Drawn from Life' on tour, Narbi Price (Journal Culture Awards Visual Artist of the Year 2018) and a workshop on 'hidden drawing' (the art of spying) from artist Michael Mulvihill.
