This is a breakdown reel of the volumetric and particle work I did on the Archangel: Hellfire teaser.
I was brought on to create all of the volumetric, and particle sims for the robot battles and environments. My work took place over a two week period which consisted of cloud, smoke, fire, dust, and atmospheric simulation, with additional particle accents. Also responsible for building pyro and smoke shaders. Final renders were farmed to Arnold via Deadline in Cinema4D.
TurbulenceFD was the primary tool used for all of the cloudscapes, smoke, fire, explosions, and dust fx. X-Particles was used for accents around the cannon blast.
Roughly 99% of my work remained in the final delivered piece. Additional change requests came in after my contracted time was finished, so a few of my pieces got replaced. Primarily the large missile con trails in the first (00:22) and last shots (00:35, 00:38) were replaced.
The final two wide shots contain roughly fifty-five (55) TurbulenceFD volumetric containers in total to build the cloudscapes.
