"The Moon the Lake and the Stars", produced and directed by Lawrence Luhanga screens as a North America premiere at the 2018 WCFF in New York, NY.
SYNOPSIS: The Moon and the Lake of Stars is a thematic story about the fish species endemic
only to Lake Malawi, Africa's third largest lake and world third deepest freshwater lake. The Cichlids' habitat was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. Despite their unique ecology and biome, the fish species are threatened by over exploitation, degradation and climatic change effects thus facing possible extinction. Hence, the story is characterized by narration and epic shots aimed to instill the message that urges activism for preservation and protection.
