Our workshop, Birds, Careers and Conservation, is a two-day intensive program that aims to bring youth from underserved communities that are not represented in the sciences to come to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We look for outstanding youth, between 14-21 years old, who are interested in learning about careers in science, conservation, and would like to have a positive impact in their community. During the workshop, participants learn about Cornell, explore the value of participatory science and critical thinking, arts and conservation, and paths to higher education. Staff from seven departments at the Cornell Lab share their expertise and time. This year we awarded 23 scholarships to attend and here are the pictures!
