Dr Sara: Hi, I’m Dr Sara. I’m the Owner and Director here at Man Cave
Sydney. I specialise in hair restoration surgery using the Martinick Technique™.
I absolutely love this surgery and this technique because it’s all about the artistry, and the design, and individualising the treatment for the person getting the surgery.
Paul: 6,600 follicles later and 3 years. Sara, thank you.
Dr Sara: I love the Martinick Technique™ because it uses the absolute gold standard in design, technology, and instruments to give you the fullest and densest results possible.
Paul: Now this will last.
Dr Sara: Forever.
Dr Sara: Forever. You’re stuck with it.
Paul: Until I’m pushing up the daisies?
Dr Sara: Pretty much.
Paul: And you’re now leading procedure after procedure. And your expertise is really the curl and the angle and the artistry with everything else. It is, however, the design that is probably the most important part.
Dr Sara: Probably the most fun part too. I love working with the person to make that design. Find what makes them happy, and individual, and make it really natural but conservative at the same time.
So because it’s gonna last forever, it’s got to be age appropriate. Not just for now but when you’re 90. So we never want to bring it too low and make you look fake. We want it nicely recessed, very masculine at all times.
With the Martinick Technique™, I use specialised devise that minimises the trauma to the skin which means better growth. But, it also means I can get the hairs closer together so you get the maximum density possible in a single session.
Paul: Sara, you have to work with very fine hair with me. How did you do it?
How did you create this density?
Dr Sara: Fine hair can be tricky to work with because you can never create thick hair out of fine hair. So it’s all about maximising what you’ve got particularly the front hairline.
The hair needs to be very acutely angled which from a technical perspective is actually quite difficult to do. And it’s why a lot of surgeons fail, but it gives you more bang for your buck.
When I’m not doing hair restoration surgery, I spend most of my time with my beautiful new little baby Stella. She’s a teeny tiny little French bulldog and she is the love of my life.
My background is, as a cosmetic physician. So on top of the hair restoration surgery, I do full face and body treatments specifically tailored for men. People often assume cosmetic and aesthetic treatments are about vanity. They’re not.
I tell people if there’s something that’s really, really genuinely bothering them. And it’s affecting their self-esteem; and if they change it, it’s going to improve their quality of life, -go for it. Change it. Embrace it.
Here at Man Cave Sydney, we’re conveniently located right in the CBD. So you can come in during a lunch break or quickly after work and get that skin, body or hair treatment you’ve been wanting.
Paul: Thank you so much!
Dr Sara: My pleasure. If you are considering hair restoration surgery, do your research. Choose a surgeon carefully. Come in for a consultation. Have a chat with one of our surgeons or myself. See if you are a good candidate and what the possibilities are.
