One day Sharlene Durfey saw her friend and makeup artist, Janna Velasquez wish some amazing fingernails... "where did you get those done?" she asked... Janna told her about her friend Elin's nail company called Nail Couture L.A. ... or NCLA and said she had done them herself... with design ideas spinning in her head, Sharlene quickly contacted Elin from NCLA and suggested a collaboration... three styles were then created and now they will soon be on your nailbeds! (if you're lucky.. I heard they are almost all sold out! but they are available at Fred Segal in Santa Monica if you're interested) .. but if you were at the Secession launch party, you may have gotten a taste of this collab.. NCLA's nails are so easy to use and they stay on for so much longer than fingernail polish!!! We are all huge fans!!! Plus, these designs go with some of the Women's Debut Collections' tops.. featured here in this video as well! Unfortunately you can't really see the nails in the video.. but check out the pictures on our blog secessionobsession.com/2011/09/04/ncla-x-secession-collab/
The shoot was short but sweet... Lauren Caster was fabulous... and our friend Kristin Reiter from Bleach/Black brought the mystery and the energy! Janna Velasquez did the makeup and the gorgeous car was lent to us by the super amazing and wonderful Sean Knibb!!! We all wanted to move into that Ford Galaxie!.. we thinks it was a 1963! Hot... everything was hot.. the car, the girls, the designs and the weather!
