Brum Zine Fest is a celebration of independent publishing and DIY making, bringing together artists from Birmingham and across the UK to share their work, connect with new collaborators and audiences, as well as activating citizens to discover their own visual language to creatively share their stories using zine approaches, methodologies and formats.
After a 6 year zine-shaped festival hole in our home city, Louise Byng assembled a small but mighty team and took on the task of restarting and refreshing a zine festival for Birmingham, with the first Brum Zine Fest event taking place on Sunday 1st July 2018 at Impact Hub Birmingham.
Here are some highlights of the day from the vibrant zine fair, to participatory workshops and discussions designed to get us all feeling inspired to cut, stick, write, fold and ultimately tell stories and share ideas.
Project supported by Arts Council England.
