The origin of materials and waste flows play an important role in the work of Diederik Schneemann. The designer’s latest conceptual project, in collaboration with photographer Aldwin van Krimpen, is called Rubdish; a transformation of Rotterdam waste that finds its way back to your plate. Two ‘rubdish chefs’ serve us tempting dishes that make us think. Tracy Metz interviewed Diederik Schneemann during the Milan Design Week 2018 for the project Human Nature - designing the equilibrium.
About Human Nature - designing the equilibrium
How do we ensure balance between humans and nature? What instruments do we have at our disposal and how does this reflect on a future that we can look forward to with more awareness and greater sensitivity? Under the title Human Nature - designing the equilibrium, eleven designers and brands answer questions about a future in which Humankind and Nature enter into a new relationship.
