On September 1, 2011 United Way of Dane County's Delegation on Safe and Healthy Aging has answered our community's call to identify strategies to keep seniors safe, healthy, and independent. Safe and Healthy Aging is a groundbreaking effort to reduce the rate and number of adverse drug events and falls among Dane County's senior population by 15% by 2015.
United Way and partners are implementing four strategies to ensure more seniors avoid falls and adverse drug events. These include providing comprehensive medication evaluations through pharmacists, at-risk home assessments, sharing best practices among service providers and community resources and a public awareness effort.
