A THOUSAND GIRLS LIKE ME is a vérité feature documentary that tells the real-life story of 23-year-old Khatera Golzad and her fight to seek justice and to protect her children, who are precious to her even though they are the result of years of sexual abuse inflicted on her by her father, Halim. When she opposes the will of her family and the traditions of her country to seek justice for years of sexual abuse from her father, she sheds light on the faulty Afghan judicial system and the women it rarely protects.
