Every time we put our keyframes to the screen, we create new worlds. Within our screens, new possibilities come alive. From the storyboarders to the asset makers, the brainstormers to the animators, our ideas awaken beautiful emotions between all of us who are lucky to share in it.
This was created for 2018's Node Fest, a motion graphics seminar based in Melbourne, Australia.
Unlike most 3D works, the shapes were assembled and animated in After Effects. To make the 3D buildings, 2D shapes were formed into nets and folded into 3D objects, which are scaled and placed in the space. This also allows details to be placed on surfaces by assigning the same coordinates as a wall or floor piece.
The idea behind this is to show the power of our collective imaginations in our motion design work, to not just show a bunch of images, but to illuminate a dimension of new ideas. And when we come together like all of us at Node Fest, we can inspire the world!
