Listen as Paul Hernandez describes a distracted driver case and just how common these cases are.
In a previous case, a sixty-thousand pound garbage truck ran a stoplight and T-boned our client and his passenger. Unfortunately, the client suffered severe injuries, and the passenger, who was a ninety-year old gentleman, was killed in the collision.
The police officer on the scene asked the truck driver some questions, and we found that he was changing the radio station at the time, so he was distracted.
The driver indicated he had not seen the stoplight because he was looking at the radio controls. These types of mistakes can be deadly, and they are very common, as distracted driving is the number one cause of vehicle accidents.
