Ohio medical malpractice attorney Craig McLaughlin explains how he helped a client that was injured when a surgical team left a towel inside his body after he had an operation.
A trip to the hospital to remove a cancerous kidney proved to be successful for our client but he wound up back in the hospital with abdominal pain.
Turns out the hospital left a surgical towel inside his stomach. Due to this horrible error, the patient had to undergo a surgery to remove the towel and another surgery to repair a hernia.
The hernia was a result of the risk each patient is under when they are operated on multiple times. Our client missed over a year of work and was never able to return to his work as a truck driver.
This one surgery - and a harmful mistake - cost our client a lot. Nurses, doctors and hospitals are under strict protocols in which to make sure events like this do not occur and do not put anyone in danger.
Their failure to follow their own safety procedures resulted in a serious injury and we made sure our client was compensated. Watch this video to learn more.
