Listen as Massachusetts attorney Patrick Hartwig explains how a 50-year-old cashier with herniated discs was encouraged to apply one last time for disability benefits.
Dawn had an excellent work history as a cashier, an industrial cleaner, and an assembler in a large factory. We encouraged her to file one more appeal for her Social Security Disability claim. We had Dawn fulfill all of the doctors’ orders and recommended treatments, including many rounds of physical therapy, injections, and pain medications.
Additionally, we asked one of her doctors to complete a questionnaire that outlined all of the limitations that would prevent Dawn from continuing her work on a full-time basis. Along with this information, we also highlighted Dawn’s strong work history, which made it clear that she would rather be working than sitting in a disability hearing. The judge approved her claim, and she received the disability benefits she deserves.
