Cleveland attorney Stuart Scott talks about how a dialysis product called Granuflo has harmed thousands of people across the country.
The company who developed Granuflo did so to cleanse the toxins out of the body during the dialysis process. However, the device produces an excess of bicarbonate in the body which can lead to many different health problems. Too much bicarbonate then results into high levels of potassium which is a serious danger to the heart. This can throw the rhythm of the heart out of balance and result in an arrhythmia. Granuflo was also linked to other heart conditions like cardiac arrest and stroke. The manufacturer of the product allowed this to happen as they understood the link between the conditions and the product yet failed to warn doctors and patients of the danger. The device was recalled in 2012 but there are still many people who have been affected and injured by its defective nature. Watch the video to learn more.
