Your first official act as a Sewanee student is to sign our Honor Code. By doing so, you are making a two-way promise. To the community and your fellow students, you pledge that you will not lie, cheat, or steal. To yourself, you pledge that you will live honorably.
With that fundamental pledge in mind, we are introducing the new Sewanee pledge to all new students entering Sewanee in the 2018-19 academic year.
- We pledge–to help Sewanee graduates secure top jobs and spots at top graduate programs by providing funding for a summer internship or research opportunity.
- We pledge–to help Sewanee graduates find their place in an increasingly interconnected world by providing you with access to a semester-long study abroad program at no additional tuition cost.
- We pledge–that you will graduate (with one major) in four consecutive years. If you do not, Sewanee will provide up to one additional year of study tuition-free.
Of course, you will have to do your part, too. But if you meet Sewanee’s academic and social expectations, we pledge, we guarantee to make these opportunities available to you.
