The American Association of School Librarians has designated September 28th, 2011 as as Banned Websites Awareness Day (BWAD) as part the American Library Association's Banned Books Week - a national awareness campaign about censorship. The objective is to start a national conversation about the impact of filtering on teaching and learning. At New Canaan High School, which is a free-range media school, we will celebrate the day by BLOCKING all the sites that are most commonly blocked in other districts. Students will interview each other on camera and post their thoughts about the impact of censorship on teaching and learning
