This is one of the finest Manatee viewing centers in North America. It is about 45 minutes south of Tampa. An electrical power plant discharges warm water into an inlet canal and the Manatees love it. On Monday, January 19th, 2009, there were at least 25 to 30 adults and calves. It was thick with Manatees. Oh, and the viewing station is free and quite well appointed to serve hundreds of visitors. Five Stars -- just disregard the smokestacks.
