The RSPCA earn close to £1 million from the certification of factory farmed salmon in Scotland - even though welfare conditions are truly shocking; mass mortalities are killing over 25,000 tonnes of salmon each year; seals are slaughtered and environmental performance has been rated by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency as "poor" and "very poor".
The RSPCA's standards for salmon farms have been written and are overseen by a Who's Who of salmon farming companies - including Scottish Sea Farms, Marine Harvest, The Scottish Salmon Company, Cooke Aquaculture and Grieg Seafood.
