"...a good education is the greatest treasure and the principal resource of a country and its citizens..."

Spain is facing dangerous cutbacks in public education.

Thousands of teachers have found themselves out of work. The ones that are left have to cope with classes overflowing with pupils. They've had their hours increased, their pay cut and are being asked to teach subjects that have nothing to do with them. Music teachers are forced to teach mathematics, English language teachers are forced to teach physical education (more examples: docentesconeducacion.es/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=180). Meanwhile those responsible for the cutbacks make a concerted effort to discredit and undermine the concerns of teachers, parents and pupils.

This video illustrates a just small part of what's currently happening in Spain, where public education is being systematically dismantled.
