Wage theft is the act of an employer failing to pay a worker correctly for the work they have done. This is commonly done by having employee work while off the clock. And for our client, Barbara, this was no exception. Barbara was a nurse in a hospital and as you can imagine by the nature of the job, she had to be available at any given moment. Barbara worked through many of her lunch breaks to take care of patients yet the hospital still deducted this pay from her check. This caused Barbara to lose valuable time that she needed to take a break and the hospital benefited from many hours of her working and not getting paid for it. Watch this video to learn more.
