Listen as Houston criminal defense lawyer Dan Cogdell details what to do if you have been presented with a search warrant at your home or office.
First, do not resist or be confrontational with the agents. That warrant means they have a legal right to be there, as determined by a judge. Avoid arguments or disagreements.
Next, know that you are not required to be present or stay on the premises in most cases. If law enforcement orders you to stay, that would be the exception. It is very important to note that you do not have to answer any questions. Lastly, you will need to call an experienced lawyer who knows how to handle these situations and can help you with your case.
