The students of Sir John Cass Sixth Form proudly bring to you, The Samosa Question Time Project, recorded live on Tuesday 26th June 2018. The event was organised, produced and recorded by our very own Sixth Form students, with the help of Samosa Media Professionals and follows the format of the popular BBC debate panel show Question Time.
Topics of discussion include: Brexit, British Foreign Policy, Grenfell and Islamaphobia - This debate fuses History, Politics and Media in an attempt to understand the major issues that are affecting young people in East London, as well as the wider world. The aim was to raise awareness of the influences on young minds and to encourage debate by providing a platform where everyone can express themselves openly, without judgement or prejudice. A huge thank you to Mr Rothon and our friends at The Samosa for helping to make this happen.
About The Samosa
thesamosa.co.uk is a London-based media and arts charity. Using the arts, we promote education and learning, community cohesion and intercultural dialogue, as well as providing spaces to explore cultural and social issues impacting our communities. Using film, theatre and music, we provide space for people of all ages for intercultural dialogue and helping community cohesion. Since 2015, The Samosa has delivered creative film & media workshops and lectures to schools, colleges, universities and community groups across the UK. Drawing on our catalogue of films and online journalism as a resource, we explore social, cultural and political topics relevant today. We facilitate debate and critical thinking amongst the young participants, allowing them to explore their identity, express themselves and promote their voice in the UK.
