Swift Parrot 2 (Lathamus discolor, Psittacidae: Parrots) Canberra, Australia

The critically endangered Swift Parrot breeds in Blue Gum forests in eastern Tasmania then migrates to southeastern Australia (central and southern Victoria and eastern NSW) from autumn to early spring. On the mainland it wanders in search of flowering eucalyptus. Its appearance in Canberra is regular but very unpredictable. In late Sept 2018 there was an influx of these rare birds into Canberra.
