In Indonesia, God is weaving the stories of the Ambonese Malay New Testament translation team members together for his glory. The team members know that God has uniquely called and chosen them to do this work together, and their desire is for everyone to know the transforming power of God’s Word in Ambonese Malay.
For over 13 years the team has been working to translate the New Testament into Ambonese Malay. Even though the Ambonese people have access to God’s Word in Indonesian, the message of the Scriptures hasn’t stuck; it doesn’t connect in the same way as their primary language.
But all of that is beginning to change because of Bible translation.
Wycliffe’s mission is to see a Bible translation program in progress in every language still needing one by 2025.
