GUE divers enjoying the Salam Express in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea. This Ferry sank in December 1991 while it was in its way home to Egypt from Saudi Arabia. On its board there were officially 690 passengers mainly from Egypt returning from the Pilgrimage. Some say that the number of the passengers was about 1600. The boat hit a reef during the night and sank within 15 minutes. Most of passengers were still asleep. Less than 200 survived. Swimming through the hall, we encountered luggage, toys, prayer rugs, tea pots, etc. A colossal tragedy.
