Beatrice was born in Bologna, Italy in 1973 and now lives in Paris, the setting for her much-loved book, A Lion in Paris. A self-taught artist, she is the creator of over thirty multi-award winning picture books. She decided to become a painter and writer at the tender age of eight and has been producing highly original art and stories ever since.
Her books appeal to both the young and the young at heart and her work has inspired and influenced our own picturebook makers, from Niamh Sharkey to Chris Haughton.
