//// TO BE A FOREST ////
In her creation, she asks herself a question, whether a human can become a forest. She explores to what extent can the human infiltrate into the forest via his senses and experiences, and if nature appears the same to everyone. To become trees, to be thousands of trees at once, to breathe through the thin, densely interlaced mycelium fibres, and to live it, to gain the experience of the forest. A selfish desire to reincarnate into nature with the possibility of retaining the human mind. By this she tries to create her own fictional forest.
There is a dominating motive of a hanging branch, a tree trunk without a treetop and roots, on a thin string, which symbolizes instability and uncertainty, creates tension in the picture, and with its motionlessness also calms down. It should reflect sort of anxiety of our generation in the overtechnized society, where we often have the feeling as we are not standing still with our feet on the ground. Hiding behind the forest painting, there is an unquenchable desire for a stay in nature. Her fascination with the forest does not lead to an accurate transfer of the seen reality to the canvas, but to an evocation of visions, impressions, and mainly a desire to become the forest.
Dreamy piano, layered vocals and a skillful play with sounds, electric guitar and beats create a powerful whole with everyday cosmic atmosphere. Tante Elze is Veronika Lečková and Tomáš Prištiak.
