Sacred space matters to God. After David acquires the property for the future sanctuary, he generously provides the raw materials and skilled workers to build God’s house. He personally contributes in gold, silver, and bronze from his own resources. He charges Solomon to construct a beautiful sanctuary for the worship of the Lord. He hires craftsmen, skilled in working gold, silver, bronze, and iron. He commands the leaders of the nation to support Solomon in such a great undertaking. He urges all the people to “set your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God. Arise and build the sanctuary” (1 Chr 22:19). Worship is designed to include all of God’s people.
