So I just got myself a couple of these Bi-Colour 312 LED lights, and I wanted to see how well they were able to light a scene over distance.
I mounted the light on the camera hotshoe and took a series of clips at different distances and exposures.
The LED was the only light in the scene, it was pretty much pitch black without it.
The camera (Panasonic GH2) was set to Daylight white balance.
This was without the diffuser fitted to the LED, in hindsight I probably should have shot some with it on and off, but the combinations were killing me as it was and it was late.
All in all I'm pretty impressed, it may be pushing it a bit at the longer distances, but I think you are going to get a surprising amount of light out of these little lights.
I did a colour sweep for each shot distance, but only put the first two up. I don't know whether setting daylight white balance on the camera was a mistake but with that setting I really prefer the middle mixed colour setting.
