“The Nows” is an expressionist pastiche of contemporary dance and music, a multi-layered, multi-paced cathartic juxtaposition of inner spaces and echoes of reality. With minimal means, the dance raises questions on social injustice (the reality of refugees, the issue of belonging in today’s society), as well as on the generalized schizophrenia the permeates daily life in a big city.
Using dance, text, music, sound and voice, we try to disrupt and reconstruct the boundaries between dance and music, and engage audiences on different levels. The music relates to the dance on parallel layers ranging from post-organic to symbiotic.
