"Buffer Overrun" addresses information as a liquid and mobile force that tends to erode the importance of place. It explores ways that bodies orient toward multiple, shifting centers, and wonders at the consequences of this contemporary form of vertigo. I wanted to make the unrelenting speed of global capitalism visible, and to “camouflage” the performers within that dominant system, so I used spiral patterns based on coding commands, horizontally striped costumes (to suggest motion lines), gestural choreography inspired by open pit stock trading, and a 28-foot-long inclined platform, so that the entire performance happened “off-kilter”.
